A Dedication Ceremony was held to honor
Three Police Officers who lost their lives

OKANOGAN, WA., MAY 12—An “Okanogan County Law Enforcement Memorial” dedication ceremony was held here today for three Police Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice!

On August 27, 1973, Tribal Police Officer Roy Richard Bradshaw lost his life when he was shot with a rifle while searching a home for a suspect above Nespelem, WA. On the same day (August 27) thirteen years later while outside a home in Nespelem, WA., looking for two suspects Colville Tribal Police Officer John Dick was struck in the left shoulder and Sgt. Louis Millard who yelled at John was fatally shot.

On March 25, 1998, a suspect by the Omak Stampede Motel shot and killed Michael W. Marshall and the suspect also wounded Omak Police Officer Don Eddy Jr.

Police Officers from 15 different organizations participated in the Dedication ceremony to honor and pay their respect to the three slain police officers. The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office formed the honor guard, which consisted of a drill team, a firing detail, etc.

After the Dedication ceremony was over, the Law Enforcement Officers paid their respect to the family members of the three police officers!

“GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN”—Around 200 people attended the Okanogan County Law Enforcement Memorial dedication ceremony held Friday, May 12, in front of the County Courthouse. The Memorial contains the names of three men who lost their lives while on duty: Colville Tribal Police Officer Roy Bradshaw and Sgt. Louis Millard, and Omak Police Officer Michael Marshall.
